Artifacts and Reflections from Course
This course was the last requirement for the e-Learning Certificate. The overall goal of the course was to create an e-Learning module that followed effective pedagogy. We began the semester by identifying a development tool that we wanted to learn more about and wrote a paper aligning the features of that tool with the e-Learning principles. I chose to evaluate Captivate 2017. This paper can be accessed via the link below.

We then developed an e-Learning module using the tool that we evaluated. The guidelines that we were given was that the module must be a minimum of 30 minutes long and must incorporate the e-Learning principles appropriately. We also had to connect the module with an external area that would engage the learner. I chose to create a discussion forum and resource site to meet this requirement.

I chose the topic of "Gender & e-Learning" and focused on why girls do not remain involved in STEM areas as they get older. This is a topic that needed to be carefully constructed and delivered. I feel that this module delivers the topic in a way that is accurate, engaging, and is also emotional. It also allows the learners to connect on an external website and gives them the opportunity to engage in authentic dialog. I am happy with how this module turned out.
