IBSTPI Competencies
The International Board of Standards for Training, Performance and Instruction (IBSTPI) revised the instructional design competencies in 2012. This revised edition is grouped in to five domains and consists of 22 competencies and 105 performance statements. This document reflects the complexity of the field of instructional design.
The IBSTPI stated, "These competencies reflect the fact that the field of instructional design has grown in breadth, depth, and complexity such that no one person can be expected to be fully competent in all related skills and knowledge" (pg. 2).
